Delete your account and data

This page explains how to request deletion of your Traceaccount and all data associated with it. Trace is built and maintained by a single developer (operating as “trace”).

How to request deletion

Email adhyan@usetrace.ai from the email address you registered with (or include that email in your message), with the subject line “Trace account deletion”. No other information is required. We confirm by reply and complete the deletion within 30 days.

  1. Send an email to adhyan@usetrace.ai from your registered email address.
  2. Use the subject “Trace account deletion”.
  3. We verify the request comes from the account owner and reply to confirm.
  4. Your account and associated data are permanently deleted within 30 days.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your account record and profile (name, email, user ID).
  • All transcripts, summaries, and decisions.
  • All knowledge-graph entities derived from your discussions.
  • Your Ask Trace / Talk-to-context history.
  • Any contexts you have created or shared.

Your recordings (audio), transcripts, and summaries are stored securely on our servers. Your transcripts, summaries, and derived data are removed when you delete your account or the context they belong to; to have stored audio deleted as well, email adhyan@usetrace.ai.

What is kept, and for how long

We do not retain a copy of your content after deletion. Routine, encrypted infrastructure backups may contain residual data for up to 30 days after your request, after which they roll off automatically and the data is unrecoverable. We may retain minimal records required by law (for example, basic transaction or tax records) where legally obligated; these contain no recordings, transcripts, or discussion content.

Deleting individual items without closing your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. Inside the app you can delete any individual context, which removes its transcript, summary, and derived entities. If you want a broader removal handled for you, email the address above describing what you would like deleted.

See the Privacy Policy for the full description of what data Trace collects and how it is handled.
